HOT, HOT, HOT.......

That's how it was in Croatia! While the folks back in the UK suffered floods and extremely un-summery weather, we roasted in temperatures hovering around 40 degrees. Our first full day there (Friday) was reported to be the hottest in Croatia for 30 years. It was really too hot for walking around town and there was no real relief in the evenings. I have sweated so much, that I reckon I should really have lost a few pounds (though I doubt that that has really happened!). We had a great time, but the constant heat is very tiring and it is almost (but not quite!) good to be back in cold, cold England again!

I will post just a few photos (as this was my fourth visit, you really have seen it all before!). Take a closer look at the sixth one from the top though, taken while we were out on a boat trip. The first boat contains a bride, resplendent in her beautiful white dress. The boat following behind presumably contains the rest of the wedding party - but they are all in various states of undress (at least one guy was completely naked!). There are many nudist beaches around Rovinj and it is not uncommon to see little boats with naked people on - but a whole wedding party?!!!! Hopefully they were not on the way to a church wedding; the reception must have been rather interesting though! I guess it saved on wedding attire; I can't see any women in fancy hats or designer dresses!

Here are the photos: -

While you were away, they did a feature on News 24 about the number of people that were going to Croatia for dental work. They visited a Dr. Doblanovic in Zargreb and showed his set up. Very modern.
